Communication Disabilities Access Canada (CDAC) is a Canadian, non-profit organization that promotes social justice, inclusion and accessibility for people who have speech, language and communication disabilities.
All courses:
- Are given by instructors who have communication disabilities
- Can be taken at your own pace
- Provide a certificate of completion
The courses have been developed by CDAC with a funding contribution from the Government of Canada’s Social Development Partnerships Program – Disability Component.
Making organizations accessible for people with communication disabilities
Course can be taken anytime between: Sept 24, 2018 – January 31, 2019
This course is for people who provide services to the public. It is about ways to make services accessible for individuals who have communication disabilities. The course can be taken at your own pace. Duration: approximately 40 minutes.
Working with a Communication Assistant
Course can be taken anytime between: Sept 24, 2018 – January 31, 2019
This course is by and for people who have communication disabilities. Get tips on how to work with a person who assists you communicating at meetings and appointments. The course can be taken at your own pace. Duration: approximately 2-3 hours.
Communication Assistance
Course can be taken anytime between: Sept 24, 2018 – January 31, 2019
This course is for people who want to assist individuals who have communication disabilities at meetings and appointments. Get information from people who use communication assistants and learn strategies that you can use to facilitate communication in these settings. The course can be taken at your own pace. Duration: approximately 2 – 3 hours.
Minimum Requirements:
